Visit to ceramic studio

Spent time with Pablo Seminario in his studio. He creates contemporary art pieces while his wife and a large staff produce pottery. Here is Pat with one of the sculptures.

Family hosted lunch

The next day we had lunch with a local family and they served us a delicacy, something that is served on special occasions.

More Urubamba

We had a tour of a typical home in Ollantaytambo. Those are guinea pigs running about the kitchen.

Chinchera

A traditional weaving village. We stopped here on our way to the Sacred Valley

Urabamba

Since it took me over a week to post something about the trip I will keep the text to a minimum and concentrate on posting photos. We are kept busy with many adventures and internet connections are not always great.

Urabamba was our first stop in the Sacred Valley. We went to Ollantaytambo, an Inca ruin.

Peru--Lima to Sacred valley

After a long overnight flight arrived tired but not too cranky. Napped and then the group was off on our tour of Lima. We started at the National Museum of Anthropology, Archeology and History where we got a thorough introduction to the history of the ancient people of Peru up to the Inca.

Then to  old Lima and the central city.  Becauses of the Easter holiday, a several day event, the main plaza was crowded with people celebrating with food vendors, souvenir and balloon sellers and those who wanted their palm leaves blessed.
